Welcome to PoppaBlog’s annual Father’s Day gift guide! Over the next few days, we’ll be providing some great ideas for dad’s of all types and ages. Remember, Father’s Day is this upcoming Sunday, June 21st (in the USA) so if you’re going to have something shipped, order it ASAP!

When some people think of dear old dad, an image of a grey haired man, glasses askew, slumped over in his favorite chair with a ratty copy of an old classic or today’s newspaper resting on his chest while he grabs a few z’s on a lazy afternoon. Or maybe your husband or baby daddy is just an avid reader who also loves gadgets. Either way, the Amazon Kindle will appeal to a wide range of men on this Father’s Day. Not only is it easy to use (read: dear OLD dad should have no trouble) but it also has the trendy/geek-chic factor that most modern 20 to 30-something dads thrive on. Yeah it’s a bit expensive ($350) and requires the recipient to purchase electronic books (generally at a handsome discount from the printed version) but it’s a fantastic gift. …and if you REALLY love your dad, there’s a BIG Kindle shipping soon (Kindle DX)

Have a dad who loves to read, but is still into killing trees? Not looking to spend three and a half benjamins on your pops? Books make great gifts…even for men who are not crazy bookworms, there are plenty of books on motorcycles, tools and building stuff. Some recommended reading from the PoppaBlog staff:

ONE RESPONSE to “Father’s Day Gift Guide: Bookworm Dad”
  1. I’d like to make a big book recommendation for the Divorced Dad: “The 40-Year-Old Version: Humoirs of a Divorced Dad” is a funny but also deeply touching and relatable collection of mini-memoirs about my experiences as a part-time Dad in a full-time life. Already receiving amazing reviews from writers like Robert Wilder and Rachel Sarah. See more at: http://www.divorceddadbook.com
